Here's something to be thankful for! Tubing, skiing, and snowboarding open for the season Thursday morning! Utah's longest tubing lanes, top-to-bottom riding on the Gully with a jib garden set-up and a bunch of sneaky sidehits are all on the menu for our November 26 opening. Get your laps in before the big meal, or come celebrate an awesome day with us as tubing and riding goes 'til 8pm.
Early season skiing and riding conditions will exist, so not all terrain will be open Thursday. Stay tuned here and on Woodward Park City social channels for the latest news on additional terrain as it becomes available.
NEW THIS WINTER
We're updating the ways guests experience Woodward Park City this season, here's a look at what you can look forward to:
NEW MEMBERSHIP & PASS OPTIONS - Our membership model is more flexible than ever: choose from the All Access Membership that you may be used to (providing access to the indoor Hub, lift-served skiing and snowboarding, and tubing) or, for those who just want to ski or ride, our new $89/month Mountain Park Membership providing lift-only access. Or for a shorter commitment, we now offer All Access or Mountain Park 1-month passes that are perfect for guests in town for a few weeks and want to live the Woodward Park City experience while we’re here.
TIMED LIFT SESSIONS - Whether you’re a member booking a lift access reservation or a drop-in guest buying a ticket, you’ll be able to indicate one of three timed sessions during the day or night that you plan to be on the mountain. This timed session system will let us allow as many guests as we can on the mountain while also managing the number of skiers or riders on the mountain in order to allow for safe physical distancing.
When you buy a ticket or book a visit online with your membership or 1-month pass, just choose which of the below session times you plan to ski or ride. Your wristband (which acts as your lift pass) will give you access to the lift during that window – but not before or after. Want to ride for the day? No problem - you can select multiple sessions when reserving a spot with your membership or pass, or buy an All-Day ticket if you’re a drop-in guest.
Lift session times for this winter are:
- 10:00 am - 1:0 pm
- 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
- 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
TUBING ACCESS – No more waiting in line at our Front Desk to pick up your tubing tickets! This season, tubing guests who purchase tickets online in advance can print their own tickets at an outdoor kiosk and head straight to the tubing hill. This new guest experience makes tubing access simpler and quicker, and will relieve foot traffic in our indoor Hub. Also, guests younger than 4 years old will not be eligible to tube this season, but can have fun in our snow play zone located next to the tubing lanes.
SKI & SNOWBOARD LESSONS - Group and private lessons will be available for ski and snowboard instruction for participants as young as 4 years old, with group sizes tightly managed to allow for a safe experience. This year, we’re introducing a beginner ski & snowboard conversion program called “Four Then More”: four sessions of lift tickets, equipment rentals, and lessons for just $299. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a 1-month mountain park pass.
KEEPING YOU SAFE
Of course, winter recreation will look different this year as we create as safe an experience as we can for guests, staff, and the community. Our summer and fall operations included several operational adjustments that we are carrying over into winter, along with more recent measures to remain flexible to changing conditions. In addition to daily staff screenings and the requirement for all who are on-site to wear facial coverings, additional actions we are taking this winter to ensure guest and staff wellbeing of all include:
- Reduced guest capacity for lift access, tubing, and the indoor Action Sports Hub to enable appropriate physical distancing. This means that on some peak visitation days we may need to deny guests indoor entry if we reach that capacity/
- Health screening for guests.
- Face coverings must be worn by all guests except when eating.
- Fewer chairs and tables in our dining areas, with more spacing between them.
- Regular cleaning of the indoor Action Sports Hub in between all indoor sessions.
- Online dining orders for contactless pick-up in our downstairs Hive dining area and table-side service ordered via QR code upstairs at the Grind.
- We also encourages who drive to Woodward Park City to use their cars as their home base this season. Gearing up at your car rather than inside the Hub will create as much indoor space for guests as possible.
Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our guests, staff, and community. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in making this winter season a success. It'll feel a little different this season, but it will still be a whole lot of fun.
