We are honored to have received the 2020 Utah Green Business Award.

Woodward Park City and Powdr understand it is all our responsibility to address climate change and its effects. To achieve this, we looked closely at how we could live up to this commitment through two key methods: finding ways our construction and operating plans could be compatible with the environment and encouraging sustainable behavior among our guests and staff.

Electric car charging stations.

The Woodward Park City Action Sports Hub, which opened to the public less than a year ago, was purposefully designed and built to operate as environmentally friendly as possible. For example: our roof produces up to 300,000 kilowatt hours per year of clean energy – covering nearly a third of our electricity needs. Another portion functions as a living roof; improving stormwater runoff, conserving energy, and sequestering carbon.

Solar pannels on the roof of the Action Sports Hub.

We also encourage mindful behavior and alternative transportation options among our guests and staff. Ten EV charging stations occupy some of the most desirable spots in our parking lots and bike racks onsite make non-vehicular access even more convenient. We also worked closely with Park City’s bus service to get included on a public transportation route, and we’ve seen enormous adoption by visitors and employees.

Water retaining.

We are excited to continue creating sustainable environments going forward and making it so we can all Play Forever.
